A Fun-Filled Family Day Out at Adventure Coast Southport

Adventure Coast Southport, formerly known as Southport Pleasureland, has undergone an exciting transformation for the 2025 season. With new themed areas, rides, and family-friendly attractions, it offers a refreshed experience while retaining the charm that has made it a beloved destination for generations.
Where to Find the Venue
Located on Marine Drive in Southport (PR8 1RX), Adventure Coast is easily accessible by car and public transport. If you’re driving, it’s recommended to enter “Marine Drive” or “Esplanade” into your satnav instead of the postcode to reach the park directly. For those traveling by train, Southport Train Station is approximately a 15-minute walk from the park.
What’s on Offer & Activities
Adventure Coast Southport is divided into four immersive themed areas:
Cartoon Boardwalk – A colourful, playful zone perfect for younger visitors.
Pirate Cove – Packed with seafaring charm and fun attractions.
Steampunk Bay – The UK’s only steampunk-themed park area, full of quirky details and unique rides.
Viking Landing – A Norse-themed area with exciting themed experiences.
With over 30 rides, including coasters, family favourites, and little one-friendly attractions, there’s plenty to enjoy. You’ll also find Viking Golf, an 18-hole mini golf course, just outside the parks entrance gate, with a 10% discount available when you’ve purchased an Adventure Coast ticket.
The park is also home to a vibrant Amusement Zone, featuring classic arcades, claw machines, coin pushers, VR games, and more. Keep an eye out for roaming characters and entertainers, and don’t forget to snap a few family pics at the many themed photo spots dotted around the park.
Food & Drink
Adventure Coast offers a range of food and drink stalls serving up all the theme park classics – from burgers and hot dogs to sweet treats and slushies. Whether you’re after a quick bite or something more filling, there’s something for everyone. Visitors are also welcome to bring their own food and enjoy it at the picnic benches located throughout the park.

There are two large car parks available on Marine Drive and the Esplanade. Both are card-only and operate from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Disabled parking bays are also available for Blue Badge holders. Parking costs £10. There is also a council-run car park a few minutes walk away for £5.50.

Why We Love It
Adventure Coast Southport blends seaside nostalgia with modern-day fun. The themed areas give the park character and variety, the ride mix keeps all ages entertained, and it’s just a feel-good place for a family day out. With regular updates and thoughtful extras like golf discounts and picnic spots, it’s somewhere we’re always excited to return to.
Good to Know
Adventure Coast is mostly open-air, which means it feels spacious and rarely overcrowded – perfect for a relaxed visit. However, this also means there’s not a lot of shelter, so it’s a good idea to come prepared for the weather. On warm days, don’t forget hats and sun cream, and if rain is forecast, pack a coat or poncho to stay dry.
Planning to ride the flumes? You will get wet! Consider saving them for the end of your visit or bringing a change of clothes just in case.
Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome too, so your four-legged family members can join in on the fun!
Please Note: Adventure Coast is a card-only venue, so be sure to bring a card for any purchases throughout the park.
