We recently spent a few nights here and honestly, it’s one of the most family-focused hotels we’ve ever stayed in. From the huge indoor play area and outdoor adventure park to the cinema, Kids Club and fantastic food options, there’s so much included that you could easily spend your entire holiday without leaving the hotel.

Whether you’re travelling with toddlers or teenagers, Amber Springs has thought of everything to make family holidays easy.

Rooms & Accommodation

Amber Springs has a great choice of rooms to suit families of all sizes, whether you’re travelling with one child or a larger group.

Every room includes everything you’d expect for a comfortable stay, including air conditioning, tea and coffee facilities, a safe, hairdryer and spacious ensuite bathrooms.

We stayed in one of the Family Den Suites and absolutely loved it. Sleeping up to six guests, it features a separate children’s den complete with bunk beds, giving the kids their own little space while the adults can enjoy a lounge area to relax in.

If you’re looking for something even more spacious, the Amber Family Suites offer luxury furnishings, smart TVs, refrigerators and large bathrooms with both walk-in showers and separate baths.

Facilities & Activities

This is where Amber Springs really stands out.

It’s one of those hotels where the children genuinely don’t know what to do first.

Inside you’ll find a huge indoor play centre, a cinema showing family films throughout the day, a calming sensory room and even a gaming zone.

Outside, Amber Park is packed with activities including mini golf, go-karts, archery, football, a playground, mini farm and the Amber Express Train. We loved how much there was to do, and it meant the kids were constantly asking what they could try next.

One thing we loved most was how everything has been designed with families in mind. You never feel like the children are an afterthought.

The hotel also runs an excellent Kids Club during weekends and school holidays, giving younger guests plenty to do while parents enjoy a little downtime.

If you’re looking to relax, the award-winning Cocoon Spa is definitely worth booking too.

Top Tip: Bring a reusable water bottle as there are refill stations located throughout the hotel.

Please note that some outdoor activities are seasonal or weather dependent.

Food & Drink

There are plenty of places to eat throughout the hotel, meaning you never have to leave if you don’t want to.

Breakfast was one of our favourite parts of the stay, with a huge buffet including a full Irish breakfast alongside continental options, pastries, fruit, cereals and plenty of hot and cold drinks.

Throughout the day you can choose from:

  • FHB Farmhouse Burger for burgers and casual dining.
  • Farina Italian Pizzeria for freshly made pizzas and pasta.
  • BBG Bistro for family favourites.
  • The Coffee Dock for coffees, cakes and sweet treats.

If you’re looking for somewhere to unwind in the evening, the adults-only Terrace Bar opens from 7pm and is a lovely place to relax after a busy day.

There is a lovely family run Chinese restaurant a couple of mins walk away called IPoh, perfect if your looking to get out and explore the local area.

Local Attractions

Although you could easily spend your whole holiday at Amber Springs, there’s plenty nearby if you fancy exploring.

We loved visiting Courtown Beach for a walk followed by some proper seaside fish and chips.

Families will also enjoy Pirates Cove and LeisureMax if you’re looking for even more entertainment during your stay.

Gorey Town is only a couple of minutes away too and is well worth a visit. It’s home to a great range of shops including Dunnes Stores, Toymaster, The Works and plenty of cafés, making it the perfect place to pop into if you need to pick up any holiday essentials or simply fancy a browse.

Parking, Accessibility & Getting There

Parking is completely free with plenty of spaces available, making arriving with luggage, buggies and excited children nice and easy.

We flew into Dublin Airport before hiring a car, with the journey taking around 90 minutes. If you’re travelling by ferry, Dublin Port is a similar distance away, making it an easy drive after arriving in Ireland.

If you’re travelling by train, Gorey Station is only a two to three minute walk from the hotel.

The hotel is also buggy friendly throughout, with accessible rooms available if required.

Pricing & Booking

Prices vary depending on the time of year, but we’d definitely recommend checking out the family packages as they often include meals and activity access, making them fantastic value.

We booked directly through the Amber Springs website, which was really straightforward, check out their socials and offers section as well managed to get a good deal by staying more than 2 nights.

Good to Know

  • The Kids Club runs during weekends and school holidays.
  • The Cocoon Spa is very popular, so we’d recommend booking treatments before your stay.
  • Some outdoor activities are weather dependent.
  • Bring a reusable water bottle to make use of the refill stations throughout the hotel.

What Sets It Apart

What really sets Amber Springs apart is how well it’s been designed with families in mind. It doesn’t just have a few child-friendly extras – the entire hotel feels like it was built to make family holidays easy and enjoyable.

From the indoor play centre and outdoor adventure park to the cinema, Kids Club and spa, there’s genuinely something for everyone. The attention to detail, spacious family rooms and welcoming atmosphere make it somewhere you’ll want to return to year after year.

It’s one of those rare family hotels where the children have the holiday of a lifetime, while the adults actually get the chance to relax too. We left already talking about when we could come back, and we’d happily recommend it to any family planning a trip to Ireland.
