Tips for Planning Your Visit

Pumpkin patches can get busy, particularly at weekends, so it’s worth checking the details before setting off.

  • Check the dates and session times. Some patches are open throughout the season, while others only run on selected dates.
  • Book ahead where required. A few venues need you to reserve a session in advance, and popular dates may fill up quickly.
  • Check what’s included in the ticket. At some places entry is free or low-cost, but you pay separately for your pumpkin. Other events include a pumpkin in the child ticket.
  • Wear suitable footwear. Pumpkin patches are outdoors and can get muddy, especially after rain.
  • Plan for extra costs. At larger events, check whether rides and activities are included or charged separately.
  • Check the weather. Many of the activities are outdoors, so it’s worth dressing the kids for the conditions.
